Character Cottage Holidays on the Isle of Wight

The Indoor Pool was our first project after moving over from Sussex in late 2017. Then in 2019 Kingates Farm Cottage (sleeps 4) and The Stables (sleeps 2) were fully renovated and have been very popular since opening. 

We are adding a Sheperds Hut for Summer 2021 (sleeps 2) and then The Hayloft for 2022 (hopefully sleeps 5). Eventually, 4 holiday properties in total on 5 acres on the Isle of Wight, South Coast AONB.

These highly rated holiday cottages enable you to explore, unwind and indulge yourself in stunning surroundings. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the location offers you amazing panoramic views of rolling hills, nearby white cliffs and the coastline. The present two self-catering holiday properties have been sympathetically renovated from original farm buildings.We were originally listed with Cottages.Com and their sister companies/ affiliates, awarded Visit England - 4 STAR status!

The cottages offer spacious accommodation, enclosed gardens and paddocks with direct access to AONB foot and cycle paths. The indoor pool has been totally transformed and includes a changing room/toilet and shower/steam room for luxurious, private use!

Location: Kingate Farm nestles between the beautiful villages of Whitwell and Niton, on the southern point of the Isle of Wight. We have many sandy beaches nearby, along the Isle of Wight Coastal Path and many stunning panoramic views across the island and further South Coast. Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Steep Hill Cove are to the East, St Catherine’s Lighthouse and Freshwater Bay to the West, with picturesque Godshill and it’s charming Model Village just inland.

History: Kingates Farmhouse is Grade II Listed and was initially thought to be a small Toll House, with a more substantial dwelling built about 1680. What we now see was extensively extended (doubled in size) circa 1897, when island wide railway lines were extensive. There have been many additions to the main house, including the floor to ceiling bay windows to the now rear of the property. The present Farm Office was an existing dairy but the Farm Cottage was the original milking parlour and Kingates Farm was once a lucrative farm of some 50 acres, breeding cattle, quality blood line horses (hence The Stables) and numerous poultry breeds.

Making Memories: Enjoy an abundance of wildlife in our surrounding gardens. Take time out, swim and splash with the family in the pool and relax together around the fire pit or hide in the wildflower meadow! Walk acres of lush green paddocks to pick orchard and hedgerow fruit. Enjoy a picnic and take photo opportunities in our beautiful surroundings. Children of all ages can feed the chickens and collect fresh eggs!
